Where Children’s Dental Care Begins
Why Children’s Dentistry?
We encourage teaching children at a young age about dental hygiene and how it affects oral health, which will benefit them their entire lives. When children visit the dentist at a young age, they quickly learn there is no need to fear the dentist. They also learn that prevention through proper oral maintenance can help them avoid painful problems, as they develop a healthy relationship with the dentist and oral care.
Our team of experienced professionals stands out among the best, as we strive to help all children with care, compassion and a gentle touch. We can help those with dental nervousness and anxiety, and we strive to ensure all of our young patients have a positive experience.
From our gentle and caring chairside manner to the “Children’s Nook” in our reception area, your child will find that visiting us can be a pleasant experience.
Early Visits, Lasting Smiles
What is Children’s Dentistry?
During early visits, your child becomes familiar with the dentist’s role and the office environment. They can play in the Children’s Nook or enjoy Netflix or Stan while waiting for their appointment, and the overall experience will help prevent dental anxiety in the future. This makes oral care easier for both you and your child.
Regular dental checkups allow the dentist to feel around the gums, teeth, and jaw to detect any problems that may be forming, allowing for early treatment. We can also take the time to reinforce healthy brushing and flossing habits, so oral health becomes second nature. This takes the pain out of future visits and sets your child up for a lifetime of optimal oral health.
A Smile Starts with Preparation
The First Dental Exam
Begin by talking to your child about the dentist visit and what to expect. Your demeanor during this friendly conversation lets them know that the dentist is not someone to be frightened of, and is there to help them.
Allow your child to bring a blanket, book or toys to their first dental visit. Some parents provide phones so the child can play games or watch a movie. Distractions and comfort toys will help them feel safe, as it lessens anxiety.
Take your child to one of your dental exams before they have their own. You can give them a ride in the dental chair or allow them to sit on your lap. This helps ease fears of the unknown, as you ensure they will feel safe during their own dental visit.

Building Healthy Habits from the Start
The Importance of Early Checkups
Prevent Tooth Decay
Any teeth are prone to cavities. Juice, candy and other foods can contribute to tooth decay as it can become trapped between teeth. Regular brushing might not always eliminate all bacteria, but regular checkups can help us catch problems early and offer professional cleaning to help avoid bigger problems.
Oral Hygiene
We can continue conversations with your child about the best way to brush and care for their teeth. As with any lesson, repetition helps your child learn in the most effective manner and sets them up for a lifetime of optimum oral health.
Crooked Teeth
Sometimes teeth become crooked when wisdom teeth come in, or if the teeth grow quicker than the jaw. Crooked teeth may present a problem as they allow more areas for food and bacteria to hide. Our experienced team can identify problem areas and recommend intervention, like Myobrace, braces, or Invisalign when necessary. Early intervention leads to less treatment time and a lower cost, which is more comfortable for your child and your wallet.
Elevate Childhood Growth
Laser Tongue and Lip Tie Correction
A tongue or lip tie occurs when the frenum is too short, too thick or attached in the wrong place. It affects an infant’s ability to breastfeed and can cause issues during childhood as the child learns to speak, eat on their own and even results in problems with their bite. Once diagnosed by a thorough evaluation, a correction can be performed by releasing the tie with a medical-grade laser.
